About

Pocket Lap started as a shared chat between three friends who kept sending each other screenshots of games we found on the bus. At some point we realised we were writing longer messages than most reviews we could find online, so we moved everything to a proper site.

We are a tiny independent team. Nobody here works for a studio and nobody tells us what to praise. When a game is fun for twenty minutes and then falls apart, we say so, and when a small title surprises us, we make sure it gets noticed.

Games are picked in a simple way. We look at what people are actually installing, we read the store pages, and then one of us installs the thing and plays it for at least a few evenings. Racing and arcade titles get extra attention because that is what we love, but we cover other genres too when they earn a spot.

Every score you see is a group decision after a short argument. If two of us disagree, the write-up usually mentions both sides so you can decide for yourself.

Lukas Berger — Lukas has been playing handheld games since the days of monochrome screens and now leads the small editorial team. He mostly covers racing and fast arcade titles.
