How we decide on a score
People ask how we land on a number, so here is the honest version. A score starts as a gut feeling after the first evening, then gets argued about until all of us can live with it.
We weigh how a game feels to control, how well it runs, and whether it respects your time. A brilliant idea buried under stutter or nagging interruptions loses points no matter how clever it is.
We deliberately avoid a strict formula. A racer and an RPG cannot be measured the same way, so we adjust what matters most for each genre and say so in the text.
And yes, scores can change. If an update fixes a big problem, we replay and edit the review. A number frozen forever would just be lazy.
